Ahead of the field following the last Qualifying Heats on Sunday morning, Dmitry Matveev (Energy Corse/TM) affirmed himself with a win in the Prefinal A, earning him the pole position for the Final. The Russian kept his advantage at lights out, followed by Rashid Al Dhaheri (Parolin/TM), who had a strong start from fifth, and Jimmy Hélias (Tony Kart/Vortex).

Al Dhaheri didn’t wait too long to take the lead with Hélias and Gerasim Skulanov (IPK/TM), winner of the Prefinal B, on his tail, while Matveev fell down to fourth. Skulanov launched his attack on Lap 4 and made his way past his two rivals for the leading spot. As the fight for the podium intensified, Hélias got pushed out on the start/finish straight and lost some ground on the leading group before Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin/TM) went for a spin in the middle of the track while battling for the Top 5!

In the lead, Skulanov progressively extended his gap over Al Dhaheri who still had a threatening Matveev to fight with for the second place on the podium. The order remained unchanged until the end of the 10-lap Final.

Simone Bianco (CRG/TM) delivered the Final’s recovery as he climbed from 20th on the grid up to fourth, ahead of Jan Przyrowsky (Parolin/TM) and Friday’s polesitter Mark Kastelic (KR/TM), who all gained one rank after Hélias and his teammate James Egozi (Tony Kart/Vortex) touched wheels and both lost a potential Top Five-finish a few meters from the flag!
