Here’s the statement published on Monday by the organizers Parma Motorsport on the official website of the competition:

Parmasport Ssd, as the organizer of the Andrea Margutti Trophy scheduled for next Sunday, March 1st, 2020, following the recent “Coronavirus” emergency issued by the Italian Health Ministry (available here), in agreement with Regione Lombardia, communicates that due to force majeure reasons not attributable to the organizer, the race is postponed to a later date to be decided. The new date will be communicated as soon as the calendar becomes available.

The Trofeo Andrea Margutti, one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions in the FIA Karting international calendar, attracted again much interested for its 31st edition with more than 250 drivers on the provisional entry-list, spread over five classes: Mini, OK-Junior, KZ2, IAME X30 Junior and X30 Senior.

Since the first cases of Coronavirus were detected last weekend, Italy has officially decreed the state of emergency with two weeks of quarantine for 11 cities mainly located in the northern part of the territory. Five persons deceased while more than 200 people have been affected by the virus.
