Shortly after the announcement of another delayed start to the FIA Karting European Championship, further changes should be expected to the 2020 calendar for OK and OK-Junior classes, this time regarding their World Championship event.
Originally scheduled from October 28th to November 1st on the Birigui Circuit in the Sao Paulo State, south of Brazil, the competition is likely to be moved to Europe at a date not yet announced at the time of writing.
This change, due to the exceptional circumstances, would not mean the end of a World Championship event in Brazil, as it might take place at Birigui in 2021.
The other world event in the current FIA Karting calendar, the World Championship – KZ, also including the International Super Cup – KZ2 and the closing round of the Academy Trophy, had previously been moved from Le Mans to South Garda due to the re-scheduling of the Le Mans 24 Hours from June to September 19-20 on the 24 Hours car track.
