The 1198 meter-long circuit is located in-between the cities of Paris and Orléans and is all set to host again a WSK event after being the theatre of one of the first races of the WSK International Series back in 2008.

In the rotation of the categories, this time around OK, OK Junior and 60 Mini will make it onto the track. These grades have been quite lively in this early season with several drivers exchanging the top positions of the classifications.

In the OK class, Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart/Vortex) ran a strong weekend in Sarno with a double win in Prefinal and Final to earn him 89 points and the classification lead. One of his strongest rivals on Italian soil was Dilano Van’t Hoff (Exprit/TM) who led the field after the Heats but couldn’t fight in the Final due to early retirement despite starting from the front row. The Dutchman still holds third place in the standings with 30 points. Before him stands Luigi Coluccio (BirelArt/TM) who scored 48 points after coming second behind Beganovic in the Final. The Finn Nikolas Pirttilahti (KR/IAME) will also be amongst the ones to watch after getting on the podium in Sarno’s Final. Currently 12th in the classification because of a contact in the Final, WSK Super Master Series’ winner Dexter Patterson (KR/IAME) is willing to recover some ground and has already found his pace on the Angerville circuit where he won the opening round of the FIA Karting European Championship – OK/Junior the weekend prior for the WSK event.

OK Junior

  • Drivers: 31
  • Nationalities: 18

The on-off results of the early season seem to be in the past for the Russian Nikita Bedrin (Tony Kart/Vortex) who grabbed all the available points in the OK Junior category. He won all the races in Sarno from the Qualifying heats to the Final and is currently leading with 90 points. In second place, the Dutch Robert De Haan (Energy/TM) comes with 41 points and is followed by his fellow countryman Thomas Ten Brinke (FA Kart/Vortex). The latter got on the podium of the Final leading the Brit Jamie Day (Exprit/Vortex) who’s fifth in the classification at 30 points and follows the Australian James Wharton (FA Kart/Vortex) at 38 points. The winner of the WSK Super Master Series Andrea Kimi Antonelli (KR/IAME) is only 11th after Sarno’s opener and, like Patterson in OK, will be expected to fight back in order to climb up the ranking.

60 Mini

  • Drivers: 44
  • Nationalities: 23

William Macintyre (Parolin/TM) managed to recover from a DNF in one heat and completed a great comeback winning the Prefinal A in the 60 Mini class. The Final was another hard-fought battle and the victory launched the Brit to the top of the charts at 80 points. The Jamaican Alex Powell (Energy/TM) also had a fruitful weekend near Naples. He has always been among the quickest and is currently second in the standings at 58 points. The third place is occupied by the Russian Aleksandr Tibekin (DR/TM) who collected 40 points thanks to several good finishes. The Belgian Douwe Dedeker (Parolin/TM) follows at 39 due to his victory in the Prefinal B while finishing third in Sarno’s Final allowed the Italian Andrea Filaferro (Tony Kart/TM) to reach 39 points too. Further back, WSK Super Master Series’ winner Rashid Al Dhaheri (Parolin/TM) comes in 13th position.
