Video: FIA Karting Championship
The scene featured in the video takes place back in June 2019 on the International Circuit of Sarno, near Naples, at the Second Round of the FIA Karting European Championship – KZ2.
The hard-fought battle is occurring between David Vidales Ajenjo (Tony Kart/Vortex n°309) and Emilien Denner (Sodikart/TM n°302). As the Spanish driver comfortably lead most of the KZ2 Final, the Frenchman launched his charge past the halfway mark of the 20-lap race, attacking the Tony Kart leader in a few occasions while nearly causing a double DNF as their wheels briefly touched at high speed on the way to the track’s hairpin.
If Vidales miraculously maintained himself in the lead after the incident, Denner kept pressuring and eventually went past by lap 17 on his way to the victory while the Spaniard lost ground down to ninth place at the chequered flag.
