The WSK Super Masters Series traveled last weekend to the southernmost location of this year’s WSK Super Master Series. The third round of the international Top-Race series took place in La Conca where the CV Performance Group kept the pressure high in the race for the title in the OK class.

After a victory in the kick-off event of the Series on the Adria International Raceway followed by a second place at South Garda, spearhead Lorenzo Travisanutto went through a tougher weekend than expected.

Qualified in a distant 17th position on Friday, the Italian found himself in the difficult position of having to fight his way through the field during the Heats. And he did so quite well in two out of three rounds but an 18th place-finish in his second Heat partially compromised his plan. On Sunday morning, he delivered a great performance in the Prefinal coming in third to catch up a little in the race for the title.

Ultimately, Travisanutto came close to step on the podium before finishing in sixth position, where he had started, at the end of the 20 lap-long Final. Not the result he might have bet on but still an important performance in terms of points collected for the team before the big final of the series in two weeks time.

In OK Junior, German driver Arthur Tohum showed his strongest weekend so far and fought his way into the Prefinals where he finished in 23rd position. Unfortunately, that was not enough to access the final step though there was a clear positive trend.

“For us it was the first race weekend under the new name and with our new team manager Jochen Schädler,” commented Team leader Christian Voß. “Concluding, I am satisfied throughout. Lorenzo had fought his way up through the time training and the Heats. Going into the final race placed second is a great baseline for us. Also, Arthur presented himself greatly. For him, it was the first race on this challenging track. Now we are looking forward to the Final in Sarno.”

The closing round the 2019 WSK Super Master Series will take place on the Circuito Internazionale Napoli of Sarno from March 21st to 24th.
