“A sad and somber day at SKUSA – with the confirmation of the rumor: the #SuperNats24 will NOT be in Las Vegas for 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and compliance with state ordinances restricting any event (public or private) with more than 50 people,” Superkarts! USA published on social media.

“After exhausting every resource to try and find a legal way to run the event, the difficult decision was made to call off hosting the race in Nevada,” SKUSA’s official statement continues. “In light of what occurred in New Orleans, SKUSA President Tom Kutscher sat down to put all his cards on the table in this very honest, candid, and transparent conversation.”

“As the video eludes to (available here), SKUSA is actively exploring the feasibility of promoting a large scale race in a different state with fewer restrictions. Thus far, those talks look very promising. *IF* the circumstances indeed permit this alternate race to occur, the event dates would be exactly the same as they would have been for Las Vegas.”
