Following his brilliant result in last year’s CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy that he concluded as vice-champion with one win on home soil in Genk, the 14-year-old will drive this season alongside reigning World champion Lorenzo Travisanutto in the OK category.

Kobe Pauwels: “It’s great to drive in the same team and have the same material as the reigning World champion. Everything is still quite new for me as I only started this year in training and driving in the OK Senior category. We will drive the Kart Republic chassis and the official IAME engines. The team is built with well-known people that have a lot of experience in karting and further on in Autosport. I am 100% motivated and proud that I am chosen to drive for this experienced team. I would like to thank my new team for the confidence that they give me to be part of this professional environment. I would also like to thank my ASN who gave me the opportunity to drive in the Academy and all my previous teams for everything they taught me. And, last but not least, my family and partners who work hard and support me to make this happen.”

Jochen Schädler (CV Team Manager): “We scouted Kobe throughout his CIK-FIA Academy season in 2018. It showed he was a permanent frontrunner and one of the biggest talents in international karting! We‘re really happy, proud and motivated to have him in our driver line-up and look forward to helping this ambitious talent achieve his goals in motorsport.”

Christian Voß (CV Team Principal): “Kobe was the runner up in the Academy Throphy and showed the speed and skills. We are very grateful to work with him and feel his passion to learn and be fast. He will drive and test a full program made of the CIK-FIA European and World championship as well as selected DKM rounds, and the preparing races for the World championship. We strongly believe he has the passion and motivation to learn and be fast and be one of the future star drivers. But, first, we will give him time to adapt to the new environment and people around him.”
