17 drivers answered the invitation of the ASK ACO and the CIK-FIA to hit the Le Mans Circuit from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st of July in the spotlights of the European Competition for direct-drive categories organized by RGMMC.

The field will be split into two categories following each driver’s level of disability with H2 for those having one or two disabled limbs, and H4 for those with three or four.

Winner of the 2018 French Championship in Ancenis, in the Loire-Atlantique region, Maxime Léger will be amongst the favorites at the wheel of his Sodi/Rotax. Laurent Flamand will try to make good use of his Exprit chassis to give him a hard time in the quest for victory.

Other names will be aiming to fight at the front like Marc Borgetto (CRG/IAME), Gilbert Meneur (Sodi/Rotax) or Alain Nicolle, winner of the very first Handikart Coupe de France in 2011. Let’s also mention the presence of the lady driver Corinne Blondeaux (Kosmic/Rotax) as well as the Algerian Omar Megari (Sodi/IAME) and the Hungarian Zoltan Bessenyey (Mad Croc/Rotax) who will add an international touch to the Competition.

The event will see the presence of former F1 driver and Handikart ambassador Philipp Streiff who will reward the winners of the H4 category with a special price bearing his name. Last year’s recipient of the honor, Vianney Chan Tsin (Kosmic/Rotax) will be again amongst the favorites opposed to Fabrice Dubois (Sodi/Rotax), one of the most-know figures in Handikart.

At the end of June, some of the participants in the Handikart French Championship had the occasion to practice on the Le Mans Circuit with the help of the FFSA Academy providing two specially-prepared chassis and a simulator for the two days of tests.
