The weekend of April 3-6 officially marks the start of the 2025 FIA Karting European Championship, with the prestigious Campillos circuit in Andalusia, Spain, hosting the opening round. The season already promises to be an intense one, bringing together 190 of the world’s most promising karting talents, divided into two categories, competing across five events to chase victory.

Campillos, a true test for the first showdown of the year
To launch the season, the FIA has selected the Campillos circuit, a 1,580-meter track located in Andalusia. It is not only Spain’s largest karting venue but also one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar. Its technical layout, featuring fast corners and tight turns, will immediately test the precision and strategies of the drivers from the very first lap.

Thanks to the close collaboration between RGMMC, the official service provider of the FIA Karting Championship, and the local organizing team, the Andalusian circuit has undergone several upgrades to ensure the best possible conditions for this highly anticipated season opener.

A crucial battle for the next generation of racing stars
The FIA Karting European Championship, a key steppingstone for young drivers aiming for higher levels of motorsport, will be divided into two categories: OK, the premier class featuring 98 senior drivers, and OK-Junior, which gathers 89 young talents looking to prove themselves this season.

These two categories will battle across four rounds of the European Championship, taking place in Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Denmark. The season will then conclude in Sweden with the FIA Karting World Championship, the most prestigious event on the international karting calendar. Each race will be critical, as drivers accumulate points throughout the season in their quest to be crowned FIA Karting European Champion.

Alongside this championship, other FIA Karting competitions will take place throughout the year, including the KZ1 and KZ2 European Championships, as well as the Academy Trophy, a one-make series designed to develop young drivers.

Maxxis and Brava Fuel: essential partners for 2025
As in 2024, Maxxis remains the official tire supplier for the FIA Karting Championships this season. The OK-Junior category will use “Option” tires, while the OK category will be equipped with “Prime” tires, ensuring top-level performance for all competitors.

Fuel distribution will be handled by Brava Fuel (Panta Spain), guaranteeing a standardized and fair fuel supply for all drivers throughout the championship.

A packed schedule for the first race of the year
Friday will begin with warm-up sessions, followed by qualifying practice and the first qualifying heats. Saturday will be dedicated to the remaining qualifying heats, which will determine the starting grid for the Super Heats on Sunday morning. In the afternoon, the long-awaited finals will take place, crowning the first winners of the 2025 season.

Where to follow the action
Fans around the world will be able to follow the racing live, as the FIA Karting Championship’s official YouTube channel will provide full streaming coverage throughout the weekend. Live results and timing will be available on the official FIA Karting website (www.fiakarting.com), with real-time updates after each session.

With Campillos setting the stage for the first battle of the year, the fight for the 2025 FIA Karting titles is officially underway. This season promises once again to be a spectacular showcase of talent and passion, as young drivers take on one of the most competitive karting series in the world.
